Open Spaces are what define Boxborough as a special place to live and is what has attracted many of our residents. Preserving and protecting the Town's Open Spaces should be a priority for Boxborough as we move toward a completely "built out" community in the years ahead.
Open Space and Conservation Land is key to a diverse and vibrant neighborhood for both people and wildlife alike. When managed well environmentally by our excellent and dedicated Conservation Commission, we can provide outdoor enjoyment for generations to come. The point was eloquently made recently that failing to protect our Open Spaces and allowing development is an "irrevocable act," and that just about says it all.
Protecting Boxborough's Open Spaces like the Flagg Hill Nature Area is something that we all should embrace. It can also pave the way for some very interesting neighbors as seen below...
